GraphDark Hint - Gegenschein Example

From the same lower latitude site, for example Harare, draw the timetable again. Click in June around local midnight.

Although the Gegenschein is high in the sky it is now in front of the Milky Way and won't be visible.

To make it more obvious the Isophote lines option was selected - this also changes the way the Milky Way is shown.

The Gegenschein is displayed as a small dashed ellipse.

Now click around midnight in September.

This time the Gegenschein is well placed, high in the sky and well away from the Milky Way.

The main limitation now is having sufficiently dark and transparent skies, and also being fully dark adapted.
