The steady flow over the stones generated large and small ripples which provided this clear pattern. |
Green bacterial mats in warm water provided a pleasant background for these flow patterns. |

This curious stream is fed by two sources at different temperatures and the flow is such that they don't mix, giving different coloured bacterial mats. |
Here the difference in background is simply due to deeper water on the left. This also shows up as a lack of bright lines where the water is too deep for the lines to be focused. |
