Noctilucent Cloud - 4th July 2009

As it got dark on the evening of the 3rd July there was a hint of noctilucent cloud before low cloud moved in.

The morning of the 4th dawned bright and clear with a delicate display of noctilucent cloud.

Venus is the bright object to the right, with Mars above and to the right of it.

The sun was 9 degrees below the horizon when these images were taken.

There wasn't a great deal of structure and the tenuous clouds were soon lost in the brightening twilight.
