Strong Circumzenithal Arc

When I first saw this in a large gap in the clouds it was a full arc, the brightest and most colourful I have ever seen. The cirrus forming it was barely visible which added to the effect. Solar altitude 19 degrees.

Unfortunately low cloud quickly blocked it out again, by the time I had got the camera and the cloud cleared it had faded considerably.

Although the large cloud soon moved off it was too late and the arc had became ragged and weak.

This patch of colour was all that was left a minute later.
