120 Degree Parhelion

There was no parhelic circle visible but this small patch of cirrus brightened noticeably as it reached the position of the left 120 degree parhelion. It was only visible for a minute or so before the cirrus drifted out of range. Although there is plenty of cirrus in the background the effect seemed to be limited to this small patch.

A few minutes later this sundog was visible, confirming that at least some of the cirrus contained plate crystals. Although the white tail shows the beginning of a parhelic circle it didn't extend very far.
