High cirrus catches the last of the reddened twilight rays. |
With so much low cloud around this sunset didn't look too promising at first. Fortunately a large enough gap opened to give a view of high cloud at various levels. The different amounts of reddening are quite noticeable and the dark low level clouds actually added to the scene. |

This colourful sunset lasted for several minutes, it also highlighted an intriguing cloud formation, seen in more detail below. |
It was probably only the low sun angle that made this wavy feature so obvious. |
