Morning Sundogs and Contrails

Above and left:
This striking sundog formed as patch of cirrus drifted through the correct position relative to the sun. The ice crystals must have been recently formed to give such clear colours.


Below and left: A few minutes later the contrail above it had drifted through the same spot producing another less colourful sundog.

A little later another contrail shows a thin slice through a sundog.
