High Sundog plus Halo

Here the sun is 32 degrees above the horizon and the sundog is clearly separated from the 22 degree halo, although the vertical streaks of cirrus make the halo less obvious.

The line to the left of the sundog seems to be a deceptive strip of cirrus, which may also be exaggerating the sundog's tail.

An hour later with the much smoother cirrus the relationship between the halo and sundog is now much clearer.

Almost at noon the sun was at its maximum altitude of 33 degrees.

Both sundogs were briefly visible at one point.
