Rainbow Polarisation


This pair of images, taken a few seconds apart, shows just how dramatic the effect of a polarising filter can be. In the first image the polariser is set at 90 degrees to the bow, almost completely suppressing it. In the second image the polariser is aligned along the bow, enhancing it compared to the background. Also notice how the glow inside and outside the bows is affected
