Full Primary Rainbow

About half an hour before sunset the sun broke through as this shower moved off. For several minutes the full primary bow could be seen, the secondary was visible much of the time but was never very strong.

Full rainbow

The low sun (4 degrees up) gave a high arc, centred on my shadow which is visible at the bottom of the image.

Rainbow ends in a field Bright primary rainbow with secondary

Before the full bow developed the left side was in sunlight first and gave a very strong and colourful arc.

As the rain moved off the lower right side remained in sunlight to give a very bright primary and a distinct secondary arc.
