The sun was 37 degrees up when this image was taken so the primary bow was only a few degrees above the horizon. The secondary bow was much higher but was faint so probably wouldn't have been noticed on its own. |

Several showers and an hour or so later the sun was only 27 degrees up. Although only part of the bow was visible it was clearly much higher above the horizon than before. |
