Low Double Bow

A brief break in the clouds as this afternoon shower passed through gave a low and fairly bright double bow.

Mid-afternoon rainbow

The sun was 34 degrees above the horizon which meant the primary was only 8 degrees above the horizon, less than its separation from the secondary bow.

Mid-afternoon rainbow

The reversed colours of the secondary showed up quite well.

There was quite a strong supernumerary below the primary bow.

The brighter region inside the primary bow was also quite distinct.
